Bethel Leadership
One is from Arizona and the other is from Texas, but both Marty Thompson and Matthew St. John consider the Fargo-Moorhead area home because of a deep sense of God’s calling in their lives.
Working hand-in-glove as partners in leading the ministries of Bethel Church, Pastor Matthew and Pastor Marty are helping shape a new paradigm for how church leadership functions—a model in which the traditional senior pastor role is divided into two or more pieces so that those involved are optimizing their spiritual gifts and passions while ensuring the mission of the church unfolds with purpose and integrity.
Recognized as Bethel Church’s executive pastor, Pastor Marty provides the primary directional leadership for the majority of the staff at Bethel Church, and works to ensure that the unique vision of Bethel Church is responsibly resourced. In his role as the teaching pastor, Pastor Matthew fills the primary shepherding role for the Bethel Church family, and serves as Bethel Church’s principal communicator of biblical truth and application, as well as Bethel Church’s purpose and vision. Together both men partner as leaders among other pastors and ministry directors, and alongside of the Elder Board, to unleash the Bethel Church family members to live, love and lead like Jesus in their respective realms of influence.
