Spiritual Formation Update

Everyone is on a spiritual journey. Some are still exploring what it means to know and follow Jesus. Others have a relationship with Jesus and are continuing to grow in their understanding of what it means to be a follower of Christ. Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, our priority is to provide opportunities so you can live, love and lead like Christ.

Last March, 461 Bethel attendees participated in the REVEAL survey. Answers were compiled and compared to 280,000 responses from over 1200 churches nationwide. For more details, view a 30 minute presentation of the Bethel REVEAL survey.

Last May, seven Bethel staff members attended a learning and planning experience in Chicago. The “Chicago Team” used the REVEAL survey results as a tool to help determine the spiritual health of the Bethel congregation and develop a strategy for continued spiritual formation, resulting in four teams working on four initiatives:

    1. Define a disciple-making pathway.

    2. Create an environment with opportunities and programs for movement through the pathway.

    3. Connect people to the disciple-making pathway.

    4. Infuse a passion for the pathway.

You’re probably wondering, “what is a disciple-making pathway”? Here’s a visual of what we mean by defining a disciple-making pathway:
