Detail:

The coming of the Messiah is synonymous with the coming of light to the earth to remove the darkness of despair, fear, and captivity. Judah is looking forward to the time when the Lord will free national Israel from bondage to Assyria, Babylon, and every other foreign power that has oppressed her. When all seems lost, a child born of a virgin (Isa. 7:4), the Messiah, will bring order out of chaos, He will cleanse and make all things new and His rule will last forever.
