Passage:Matthew 13:44-46
Preacher: Darwin Anderson
Keywords: treasure, life, rest, purpose, fulfillment, perspective, provision
Summary:
Trusting and shrewdly investing everything we've been given to what Jesus wants to get done in us, around us, internationally and for our eternity.
Detail:
In Matthew 13, the man who found the treasure valued that treasure so much that he gave up all he had to buy the field to own the treasure. We can imagine that man came home and told his wife and kids to gather all they owned: the house, their cars, iPods, favorite shoes, antiques and family heirlooms, EVERYTHING. Then they SOLD it ALL. Only by selling all they have could they gain the treasure. For the one who has seen the treasure, there is little thought of what is "lost" because they can only think of the reward to come. We might compare it to selling the "thousands" to gain the "millions."
