On the basis of Jesus’ once for all sacrifice, the author of Hebrews challenged the faith community to stay together and hold fast to their beliefs. Their faith is being tested by intense persecution. Some of the believers are walking away from their faith; some are no longer coming together in Christian community. Through mutual strengthening and encouraging, those who follow Jesus are able to live as a witness, especially when being persecuted for their faith in light of the soon return of Jesus.
