Christmas Can Still Change the World!aina

This year, through Advent in Action, we are encouraging our congregation to celebrate Christmas by spending less and giving more. America spends an average of $130 billion a year at Christmas! So what are we asking? That each of us considers buying one less gift this year. Just one. By spending less, we have the opportunity to redirect those dollars to a ministry who will use them to build the Kingdom. Our combined gift will benefit this year’s Fargo-Moorhead Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack.

Serving Together to Make a Difference

On Friday, February 1 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. we will pack as many MannaMeals as possible during the Fargo-Moorhead Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event.

Our city-wide goals are to see 14,000 volunteers pack 2,500,000 meals in 3 days at the Scheels Arena. To accomplish such a big dream, we are working with area churches, non-profits, and businesses to raise $550,000.

During this packing session, each volunteer will pack an average of $50 of food, which provides 216 meals and feeds a starving child for seven months! That’s less than 25 cents per meal! Please search your heart and consider how you can use your time and treasures.

Thank you for partnering with us to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. Your financial gift to Advent in Action will be used to support our city-wide Mobile Pack event.

Pray

  • For 14FMSC Child,000 plus volunteers to join us in making 2.5 Million meals January 31-February 2.
  • For 1,000 plus Bethel volunteers to serve on Friday, February 1, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. together. Sign up here.
  • For each meal to be used by God to bring hope to an undernourished child.
  • For our community to see the churches working together as a witness of Christ’s love for all people.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me… “
(Matthew 25:34-35 ESV)

Building on a Legacy of Generosity

Over the last several years Advent in Action dollars were used to provide water wells, sanitation improvements, hurricane relief in Haiti, transportation needs in Mozambique and Nepal as well as EFCA crisis response work in Houston. All have proved to be tangible expressions of Christ’s love. We regularly receive updates from Master’s Heart, AwanaIFOSuDEFCA Crisis Response, and others that our investments are providing opportunities to share the love of Jesus. These projects regularly remind people that God really does love their community.

Will what I give make a difference?

FMSC Helpers

If we all give a little, it adds up to a LOT. Your gift of $40, $100, or $1,000 will go a long way toward providing hope through a nutritious meal given to some of the world’s most undernourished children. These investments help build gospel-centered relationships. If every adult at Bethel gave $50 we would quickly raise over $60,000!

Let’s join together this season in sending a special gift to support the FM Mobile Foodpack. Merry Christmas!
