Bethel Kids – Birth to 6th Grade

Our Dream

Here at Bethel Kids our dream is that children will be changed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose

We strive to partner with families to make disciples by helping children begin a personal relationship with God, teaching them what it means to be a member of God’s family, and guiding them to influence the world for Christ.

Our Work

All we do is guided by our ministry values, which demand that we be truth-centered, relationally-focused, family-oriented, child-friendly, volunteer-driven, outward-directed, safe and secure.

~OCTOBER UPDATES~

Limited space is available as we maintain social distancing. The kids will remain in one area for the evening. (Most clubs will have a maximum of 20 kids total.)

Kids and all volunteers are required to wear a mask. Online registration is open and we still have some spots available. Fees are $30 per child (includes dues and one handbook per year). Books will be handed out the first night of Awana. Uniforms and bags will be available for purchase once Awana begins.

Due to COVID restrictions we are asking that you try register your child at LEAST one week prior to attending so that we can get them placed in a group.

TRUNK Street

This Halloween will look much different for many of our families. Here at Bethel Kids’ we are wanting to provide a fun and encouraging drive-thru experience during this season. It will look something like this:

“Come cruise down Trunk Street on SaturdayOctober 31 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. in Bethel Church’s main parking lot! Cars will make their way along the designated path to see all the creatively DECORATED trunks! Each car will receive a VOTING ballet to vote for their FAVORITE trunk. At the end of Trunk Street cars will have the opportunity to stop, get out, and take a family/friend group photo at one of our photo booths. All kids will then receive a Halloween Goodie Bag to take home! Costumes not required but recommended.”

In order to make this event a success, we are hoping for 25 committed Trunk DECORATORS! If you would like to DECORATE a trunk please sign up HERE. Check out Pinterest for TONS of fun and creative ideas!

Kids Check In Instructions

**When this video was recorded we didn’t have a start date yet. Our official start date is Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Bethel Kids Re-Opening Plan

Please plan to arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the service starts. When you arrive, look for the Kids Welcome Desk. We will greet your family there and register your child for the appropriate classroom.

After you are registered, you and your child will be given matching security tags that are unique to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the nametag portion which bears a code that is matched to your portion of the nametag. When you return to your child’s classroom you will need to show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

If your child needs you during the service, we’ll contact you by sending you a text. Please have your phone on vibrate and be aware of your messages during service.

We provide 3 unique and age-appropriate environments for your kids:

Early Childhood (Newborns-4/5 year olds)

Programming is available for Infants through 4/5 year olds. They meet each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Preschool Wing of our building. Teaching the message of God’s love, the significance of

each child, and God’s purpose for each life is crucial to preparing boys and girls to someday begin their relationship with Christ.

Currently, due to the size of our classrooms, in order to be in compliance with CDC regulations we can only have 10 kids + 2 volunteers per classroom. Once the classrooms reach capacity we will ask that your child attends church with you for the morning.

Elementary (Kindergarten-4th Grade)

Sundays at 9 a.m., school aged kids will meet in the church GYM. Each grade will be positioned near their same aged peers. All ages will worship and hear the lesson for the day together. Due to COVID, kids will not be walking back to their classrooms for small group. Instead, each age group will have a socially distance space within the gym where they will participate in small group activities with other same aged kids.

Sundays at 10:45 a.m.: Currently this kids’ service time is put on hold. Our team will re-evaluate offering this service time again once the attendance of kids starts to increase.

Preteens (5th-6th Grade)

Sunday at 9 a.m. This class will meet in a large group setting for worship in the GYM with K-4th grade. They will then split off into Room 120 where they will have their own lesson and small group activities. Small group will occur at spaced out tables where discussion/activities will occur with a small group leader. This setting lets preteens hang out together and socialize in a different setting.

image-ar-awana-logo-0-0-173-76Awana is a scripture memorization and Bible learning ministry that will mold and shape your child through the limitless power of God’s Word. Awana leaders, together with parents, create a spiritually-nurturing environment to encourage kids to grow in knowledge of Scripture and their walk of faith. Awana meets on Wednesdays during the school year from 6:25-7:30 p.m.

Awana is for kids in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Cubbies Program is available for 3 & 4 year olds. We have lots of more detailed information available for our club on our AWANA page or you can find out more about the AWANA organization at www.awana.org.

IMPORTANT:

We are asking that you sign up and register your kids by OCTOBER 5.

Due to COVID, we are strongly discouraging walk-in registration on the day of Awana.
We are limiting the amount of kids per group, and therefore will not be certain we have space for your child(ren) if you walk in the day of Awana. Therefore, pre-registration at least a WEEK prior to the next Awana date will be required.

Here are some of the steps we take to ensure the safety of each child:

  • Classrooms are free of clutter and have clean and age-appropriate toys.
  • A minimum of two screened volunteers are in each classroom.
  • Two additional staff members are available to provide extra help when needed.
  • Background checks are completed on all staff working with children.
  • We will utilizing texting parents if their child is in need of their attention.
  • A health policy is in place to protect the health of all children present.

Ways to Serve

Sunday School Volunteers Needed

Are you interested in getting involved in Bethel Kids Ministry? We strongly encourage parents of children attending Bethel Kids to serve at least once a month. Our Sunday School Classrooms are staffed by volunteers. All the supplies are prepared ahead of time and we need willing hearts to help manage the classroom.

To see a list of our specific needs and ways you can serve as an adult or even if you’re a teenager, click here.

For more information about our ministry to children or questions about volunteering with our children’s ministry email Delia or call her at 701.730.1956.

We ask parents for their cooperation in helping to provide a healthy environment. We request that sick children be cared for at home. We publish these rules of thumb for the sake of all the children. Children are not ready to attend if they are not feeling well or if they are experiencing any of the following:

  • A fever of 100 degrees or more within the last 14 days
  • Shows symptoms of COVID-19
  • Has been around anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19
  • Vomiting within the last 24 hours
  • Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
  • A runny nose with other than clear drainage, especially if accompanied by other symptoms
  • A bad cough

0804h0015-blackwhite“I prayed for this child, and the Lord answered my prayer and gave Him to me.”I Samuel 1:27 Child dedication at Bethel Church is a joyful recognition that every child is a gift from God; it is a celebration of the wonderful privilege and blessing it is to be a parent! God has entrusted you with a new life and has chosen you to be a tangible expression of His love, character and values for your child. During dedication, parents have an opportunity to publicly acknowledge that their children ultimately belong to God and that they desire His plan for their lives. We also believe that the people of Bethel Church have a responsibility to partner with you as you raise your child. The congregation will be challenged to pray for your family and to be godly examples for your child to follow. If you have trusted in Christ as your Savior, you are invited to present your child in Christian dedication to the Lord. If you would like to know more about parent-child dedication, please contact Tracey Hallstrom.

Parent Cue App

As a parent, some of the most important things you do for your child don’t happen in a single day. You make small deposits in their life week after week—over time. That’s why the Parent Cue App gives weekly cues to help you make the most of the time you spend with your kid or teenager.

Be sure to link to Bethel Church by using the 58103 zip code for even more meaningful ways to connect with what your student is learning each week.
