Early in the book of Acts, Jesus tells His disciples that the Gospel message will spread from Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth (1:8). Luke records this spread of the good news of Jesus so that you and I will have confidence that what Jesus said would happen has happened and is happening still today. The early church experiences many growing pains similar to what you and I still experience today as we await the return of Jesus. In Acts 16, Luke takes great care to detail the rapid expansion of the Gospel into what is now modern Europe. We see how the good news of Jesus brings together a most unlikely small group of believers to launch Paul’s missionary travels into the unreached world.
