God has given our Children’s Ministry Team the opportunity to change the future of the Fargo-Moorhead area and ultimately the world, by touching young lives today through the power of Christ’s love. Our dream is that children will be changed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our purpose is to partner with families to make disciples by helping children begin a personal relationship with God, teaching them what it means to be a member of God’s family, and guiding them to influence the world for Christ. Our work is guided by our ministry values, which demand that we be truth-centered, relationally-focused, family-oriented, child-friendly, volunteer-driven, outward-directed, safe and secure. We invite you to consider our ministry departments and explore how we can help your child grow spiritually. We call our ministry Bethel Kids, and it is truly a place where kids belong.
If you don’t find what you’re looking for here you can email Tracey or call her at 701.232.4476. OR feel free to stop by the Kids’ Welcome Desk in the foyer and they can help you.
If you would like to volunteer in our Kids’ Ministry or have questions about volunteering, please email Delia or call her at 701.730.1956.
If you’re new or visiting Bethel, we would love to serve your kids. We ask that you stop by the Kids’ Welcome Desk in the foyer to sign them up so we know who they are and how to find you if needed during services. Then we’ll help you find the right classroom for your kids to go. It just takes a few minutes. We offer some great options for kids that are infants through 6th grade.
Programming is available for Infants through Kindergarten They meet each Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. in the Preschool Wing of our building. Teaching the message of God’s love, the significance of each child, and God’s purpose for each life is crucial to preparing boys and girls to someday begin their relationship with Christ.
Elementary (Kindergarten-4th Grade)
School aged kids meet each Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. either upstairs or downstairs in the Children’s Wing. Each grade meets in its own classroom for relevant, age-appropriate instruction that we believe is key to spiritual development. The elementary years are a prime time for helping kids begin a personal relationship with Christ and learn to be Christ-followers. To that end, we seek to partner with parents and other ministry volunteers to create intentional relationships which will draw elementary-aged children to Christ.
Preteens (5th-6th Grade)
This class has a large group setting as well as small discussion groups. This setting lets preteens hang out together, play foosball and table games, and enjoy the blessing of belonging to something bigger than themselves. Pastor Gary leads these kids each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Youth Room, off of the gym.
Please note: Classroom advancements take place in early September each year and our policy is to place children in classes by age rather than sibling relationships.

There is great joy in serving with the Bethel Kids ministry teams. We believe that every child is a gift from God and as such deserves our best efforts to protect them while they are in our ministry. It is a high priority to make sure that each child is protected from the possibility of abuse. Likewise, Bethel Church desires to protect its volunteers from false allegations. Therefore, an in-depth screening process is required for every individual who desires to minister within our program(s) and has been established to ensure that the utmost protection is provided to prevent an abuse situation or accusation.
Here are some of the steps we take to ensure the safety of each child:
– Classrooms are free of clutter and have clean and age-appropriate toys.
– A minimum of two screened volunteers are in each classroom.
– Two additional staff members are available to provide extra help when needed.
– Background checks are completed on all staff working with children.
– A numerical paging system in the Worship Center alerts parents when needed.
– A health policy is in place to protect the health of all children present.
Ways to Serve

For more information about our ministry to children or questions about volunteering with our children’s ministry email Delia or call her at 701.730.1956.
We ask parents for their cooperation in helping to provide a healthy environment. We request that sick children be cared for at home. We publish these rules of thumb for the sake of all the children. Children are not ready to attend if they are not feeling well or if they are experiencing any of the following:
– A fever of 100 degrees or more within the last 24 hours
– Vomiting within the last 24 hours
– Diarrhea within the last 24 hours
– A runny nose with other than clear drainage, especially if accompanied by other symptoms
– A bad cough
This policy not only protects other children, but also ensures that your child gets the most enjoyment from our programs.
Child dedication at Bethel Church is a joyful recognition that every child is a gift from God; it is a celebration of the wonderful privilege and blessing it is to be a parent!
God has entrusted you with a new life and has chosen you to be a tangible expression of His love, character and values for your child. During dedication, parents have an opportunity to publicly acknowledge that their children ultimately belong to God and that they desire His plan for their lives.
We also believe that the people of Bethel Church have a responsibility to partner with you as you raise your child. The congregation will be challenged to pray for your family and to be godly examples for your child to follow.
If you have trusted in Christ as your Savior, you are invited to present your child in Christian dedication to the Lord. If you would like to know more about parent-child dedication, please contact Tracey Hallstrom.
