CloseHumility can be elusive; as soon as you think you are humble, you are not. To become humble, we must recognize we are proud. The journey through pride to humility is not for the faint of heart. When found, humility stands out. John Dickson writes in Humilitas that humility is, "holding power loosely for the sake of others." Humility becomes the strength by which we can love and serve others. To the young church in Philippi, Paul reminds the church that Jesus is the ultimate example of humility. Jesus was obedient to death on the cross, humbling himself for the glory of the Father. God invites you and me to similar humility, dying to ourselves that we might glorify our Heavenly Father.
