Can anyone hold a funeral service at Bethel Church?

Funeral services are typically reserved for members and regular attendees of Bethel Church.

Is there a fee for using the church for funeral services?

There’s no facility charge for Bethel Church members and regular attendees to use the facility for funerals. If additional help is needed for custodial and sound ministries, there may be a charge. Non-attendees will incur a charge.

When is the church available for funeral services?

Monday afternoons through Friday mornings. Funerals and memorial services are scheduled with top priority over many other events with the exception of weddings and conferences. The facility is typically not available outside of this schedule unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Where are funeral services held at Bethel Church?

Depending upon availability and the size of the service, they are typically held in the Worship Center or the Family Life Center.

Are meals provided for funeral services?

Bethel Church’s Funeral Luncheon Team provides lunch or dessert receptions depending on the service time.

What about pastors?

Pastors at Bethel Church are available to officiate funerals at the church as well as at funeral chapels and interment sites. The Director of Care Ministry will provide pastor availability. Pastors not affiliated with Bethel must be approved in advance by the Ministry Leadership Team.

What about music for the funeral service?

The Bethel Church Worship Arts team may be available to help you with music arrangements for the service. Family members, friends, and outside musicians are also welcome to participate.

What about honorariums?

Full-time Bethel Church staff members do not receive honorariums since assisting with funerals is part of their ministry responsibility. Part-time staff, volunteers, and outside participants may accept honorariums. The Director of Care Ministry can offer suggested honorarium amounts.

Can the funeral service be recorded?

One audio CD of the service will be recorded and gifted to the family. The family has permission and is responsible for creating any duplicates as needed.
