Bethel Kids – Birth to 6th Grade

Our Dream

Here at Bethel Kids, our dream is that children will be changed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose

We strive to partner with families to make disciples by helping children begin a personal relationship with God, teaching them what it means to be a member of God’s family, and guiding them to influence the world for Christ.

Our Work

All we do is guided by our ministry values, which demand that we be truth-centered, relationally focused, family-oriented, child-friendly, volunteer-driven, outward-directed, safe, and secure.

New to Bethel Kids?

Sunday Mornings in Bethel Kids

Please plan to arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the service starts. When you arrive, look for the Kids Welcome Desk. We will greet your family there and register your child for the appropriate classroom.

After you are registered, you and your child will be given matching security tags that are unique to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the nametag portion which bears a code that is matched to your portion of the nametag. When you return to your child’s classroom you will need to show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.

If your child needs you during the service, we’ll contact you by sending you a text. Please have your phone on vibrate and be aware of your messages during service.

We provide 3 unique and age-appropriate environments for your kids:

Early Childhood (Newborns-4/5 year olds)

Programming is available for Infants through 4/5-year-olds. They meet each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Preschool Wing of our building. Teaching the message of God’s love, the significance of each child, and God’s purpose for each life is crucial to preparing boys and girls to someday begin their relationship with Christ.

Elementary (Kindergarten-4th Grade)

Sundays at 9 a.m., school-aged kids will start out in the church GYM. All ages will worship and hear the Bible lesson for the day together. Each age group will then line up and travel to their designated classroom for small group time. Parents will pick up their child(ren) in their designated classroom following the Worship Service.

Sundays at 10:45 a.m.: Currently this kids’ service time is put on hold. We desire to hold Sunday School for this service, however, we are lacking volunteers to support this programming. If you are interested in volunteering during this time we would LOVE for you to join our team! Please email Allison at allison@bethelfc.com if you are interested!

Preteens (5th-6th Grade)

Sunday at 9 a.m. in Room 120  The Preteen class exists within Bethel Kids to provide an environment where preteens can grow in knowledge, develop community, and take ownership of their faith to become transformed teens who influence their world for Christ. This takes place in three primary ways: Large Group Lessons, interactive activities, and small group conversations.

Sundays at 10:45 a.m.: We encourage 5th and 6th graders to use this service time to serve somewhere in the church. This could be within Kids Ministry, as a greeter, as an usher, on the Worship team, etc.

image-ar-awana-logo-0-0-173-76Awana is a scripture memorization and Bible learning ministry that will mold and shape your child through the limitless power of God’s Word. Awana leaders, together with parents, create a spiritually nurturing environment to encourage kids to grow in the knowledge of Scripture and their walk of faith. Awana meets on Wednesdays during the school year from 6:25-7:45 p.m.

Awana is for kids in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Cubbies Program is available for 3 & 4 year olds. We have lots of more detailed information available for our club on our AWANA page or you can find out more about the AWANA organization at www.awana.org.

How to Register

Sign up online now.

Fees are $30 per child (includes dues and one handbook per year). Books will be handed out on the first night of Awana. Uniforms and bags also will be available for purchase on the first night.

During the school year, you can sign up and pay at the Kids’ Welcome Desk on Wednesday evenings before Awana starts for the night.

Join our Volunteer Team!

We need over 100 volunteers to help Awana run smoothly each week. A great way to invest in your children, meet new people, and have a lot of fun! Volunteer positions are available for nursery, preschoolers, and elementary kids. Students in 7th grade or older are welcome to join our team as well!

What is Parent/Child Dedication?

Parent/Child Dedication is a commitment to raise your child in a Gospel-centered home while taking the lead role in your child’s discipleship. This dedication is not a statement of salvation for your child, but rather a statement of how you will raise your child.

While not a command of Scripture, parent/child dedication can be a beautiful symbol. It should be done with a community of believers who know you personally and can commit to walking with you in this commitment. This is why we, at Bethel participate with you. As you acknowledge your responsibility to raise your child(ren) in a Gospel-centered home taking an active role in your child’s discipleship, we as your church family, are making a similar commitment to you, the parent(s), to come alongside you and help you in this discipleship journey.

I want to Dedicate my child(ren).

Great! We are excited that you wish to dedicate your child to the Lord! We look forward to walking alongside you in your parenting journey! You’ll need to attend our 45-minute Parent/Child Dedication class, which is offered the Sunday before dedication dates. It’s a great way to get to know our staff, learn about dedication, and prepare for the ceremony. Your child(ren) can attend Sunday School during the class.

Children must be registered BEFORE attending the Child dedication class. This helps us know how many families to expect in the class.

Parents who have dedicated a previous child are NOT required to attend the Parent/Child Dedication class.

2021-2022 Dates:
  • January 30, 2022 – Dedication class will be held on Sunday, January 23 @ 9 a.m. in Room 112
  • Mother’s Day – May 8, 2022 – Dedication class will be held on Sunday, May 1 @ 9 a.m. in Room 112
