It's Messy

Get Real

Following the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus' disciples argued over who would be the greatest in the kingdom of God. Jesus pulled the men away from the crowds into a place where they could be alone. Matthew, Mark and Luke all record a moment where the men are challenged that to inherit the kingdom of God, they must die to selfish ambition for power, prestige, and position. Jesus invites His disciples to a radical departure from the world's system of getting all that you can in this life. This pattern of self-seeking started in the garden in Genesis 3 and must be traded in for something better, namely seeking the Kingdom of God through abandoning self and trusting God for a Kingdom which is yet to come.
