Message: “It’s Messy” from Andy Veith

So far in the REAL message series we have looked at relying on God, empty of self, and now authentic relationships. Nine indicators in Galatians 5:22-23 give us feedback on the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. When we trust Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit takes up residence within us to transform us into who God wants us to be. We are no longer under the authority of the Law. In Christ we are set free to live in obedience under the rule and authority of grace. As the Spirit works in our hearts by giving us new desires we begin to see fruit that looks like Jesus. Paul’s summary of the Spirit’s fruit in Galatians 5:22-23 stands in stark contrast to the fruit born of the flesh. Authentic relationships give us opportunity to celebrate the work of the Spirit so that we more and more look like Jesus.
