Jars of Clay

God has created people in His image to display Himself throughout all creation. In our brokenness and sin we have fallen short. Our frailty and weaknesses too o en become excuses for disbelieving God can s ll use us for His purposes. Like a piece of potery, God has created each of us for a purpose. Paul uses the imagery of a plain earthen vessel to describe our present frail reality. The plain vessel is unassuming and not much to celebrate. It is not a piece of art set on a shelf to be simply on display. This metaphor helps us see one of the most beautiful realities of life in Christ: God loves using normal ordinary people to display his incredible grace and power.
