2. When you suffer, do not be afraid; remain faithful. (v. 2:10)
3. Your reward and your future are secure in Jesus. (v. 2:11)

One Thing:
Trusting yourself to Jesus’ care, knowing your reward and future are secure in Christ, remain faithful when you suffer.

“The church in the world is called to overcome (Revelation 2-3), that she might be the bride of Christ in glory in the new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21-22)” (James Hamilton). In these seven letters at the beginning of the book, John challenges and encourages us, the church, to live faithfully in anticipation of the final victory that we will have through the Lamb of God.

1. What does Jesus say about himself in Rev. 2:8 (Look back at 1:4-5, 8, 20)?
2. What does Jesus say to the church in Smyrna about the spiritual warfare occurring with them? What can you learn from that to apply to your life?
3. What is promised to the one who conquers and is victorious through Christ? How does this letter help you to live victorious?
