Family:
I’m married to Greta and we have 5 great kids!

What are your hobbies/interests?
I love photography, reading, new technology, and Craigslist. My dad calls me “Sanford” because I like to buy and sell “treasures.”

What do you really do at Bethel?
I help us improve our process of guiding a person from visiting Bethel for the first time to being involved in a disciple-making ministry. I also regularly get out of the office and into our community to encourage our local outreach partners and friends in the work they are doing. And when I’m not doing those things, I’m thinking of ways we can improve how we communicate our mission and ministry at Bethel.

What should you NOT be allowed to do at Bethel?
Lead worship or make tater tot hot dish.

What would your best friend say is the best thing about you?
My strengths are in teaching, shepherding, and serving. My friend would also say I’m pretty good at remembering random details.

What do you love most about working for Bethel?
We’ve been at Bethel since 2009. My favorite thing about our church family is that there is an expectation that God is going to show up and work in our lives. I love the variety of people who call Bethel home, from those who are just starting to ask questions about Jesus to those who have followed Jesus for decades.

How and when did you come to Christ?
At age 11, I recognized my sinfulness for what it is. I knew I needed a Savior and acknowledged that Jesus is the one who paid for my sin and rose from the dead. Since that time, I’ve been growing in grace and understanding of what it means to obey Him.

What are your calling and passion?
To help people connect with God and one another.

What has God been teaching you recently?
To rest in Him. So much of my life I’ve spent trying to do things to make God happy. I regularly remind myself that I am loved by God, and anything I do is in response to His love. His GRACE is more than enough. Ephesians 2:8-10.

Favorite Verse:
“Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” – Psalm 115:1

What famous person do people say you look like?
Cory Matthews

Who is your favorite sports team?
UNC Tarheels

What is one thing people don’t know about you?
When I was first arriving at my new job at Bethel, I spilled an entire glass of ice-cold water on my boss at dinner. Talk about first impressions!

If you had the opportunity, what famous person would you want to hang out with and why?
I would enjoy visiting with Condoleezza Rice someday. She seems to consistently live in her strengths.
